    Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s A Little Night Music navigates the tangled web of affairs surrounding actress Desiree Armfeldt, her lovers, her family and their families.     CCADS Theatre bring a new production of the stage adaptation of one of the greatest American novels of all time to the intimate and atmospheric surroundings of The Square Tower.

    John Steinbeck’s own stage version of his classic tale tells the story of George and Lenny, the fast-talking farm hand and the simple giant who accompanies him on a life of casual labour in the California Agricultural Belt of the 1930’s. They share a dream of a little place of their own, where Lenny can tend the rabbits and they can “live off the fat of the land”.

    But when Lenny’s actions unwittingly lead to tragedy, George must shatter their dreams to keep Lenny from falling into the hands of the law and the vigilante farm hands bent on revenge ...

    Originally written by David Seidler as a stage play in 1970 but requested by the Queen Mother not to pursue the play until after her death, Seidler then developed the screenplay for the internationally acclaimed film in 2010. The film starred Colin Firth as King George VI, the king who conquered his debilitating stammer with the help of maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush).
