CCADS (Corpus Christi Amateur Dramatic Society) was formed from a small church hall group in North End, Portsmouth in 1992. We now have a dedicated cast membership of over forty people of all ages and we pride ourselves on the wide range of plays and musical productions we stage and the high standard of talent and versatility within the group. We are looking forward to another exciting year  with a very strong line-up of four very diverse but equally magnificent  pieces of theatre!  We will continue our highly successful association with The New Theatre Royal, Kings Theatre and Groundlings Theatre

Led by Artistic Director John-Paul McCrohon, (pictured) CCADS soon progressed from its initial humble beginnings to take ''..front-rank status among the city's amateurs..'' (The News).
The company has been seen at prestigious local venues that include The Portsmouth Arts Centre, The New Theatre Royal and The Third Floor Arts Centre with productions that have been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for the quality of performance and the excellence and originality of their staging.

CCADS has established a very strong reputation for providing acclaimed works of modern theatre with rare local outings, including a large number of area premieres, together with the presentation of totally fresh interpretations of popular classics. These categories include works by Alan Bennett, Stephen Sondheim, Aaron Sorkin, Christopher Hampton, Ben Elton, J.B. Priestley, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Alan Ayckbourn, Kander&Ebb, Rodgers&Hammerstein, Cy Coleman, Jim Cartwright and Michael Hastings to name but a few.

CCADS is proud that its output of 4-5 productions each year is diverse and eclectic, with different pieces of theatre to appeal to a wide range of different audiences, always graced by the very best in local talent both on and off stage. The company has also provided many programmes of concert-style entertainment in aid of a large variety of charitable organisations both locally and also beyond.. As we enter our 15th year, our commitment to providing the highest possible standard in local theatre is stronger than ever, with our recent recognition at The News Guide Awards a representation of the record of success that we aim to maintain for many years to come.
